1. Measure the distance between the walls where you intend to hang any shower curtain rods. This measurement is best taken at the designated height that the shower curtain rods will be placed.
2. When selecting shower curtain hooks and rods, be sure the shower curtain hooks fit the rod.
3. Three main types of shower curtain rods that will determine how they are installed are: bracketed, spring loaded, or telescope.
4. For installation of shower curtain rods with brackets, a level will be a useful tool.
5. Spring loaded shower curtain rods simply require strength to keep the rods narrower than the wall space until you have them at the desired height.
6. Adjust telescope shower curtain rods to approximate width and then twist or untwist for proper tension once in place.
7. If shower curtain hooks do not open, place on shower curtain rods before completing installation.
